About

The UnNatural Mother was created in July 2016 shortly after the birth of my 2nd Child Charley-Rose. It started life as a tongue in cheek platform where I would share our crazy daily family life and has grown into a ‘how to guide’ for Surviving Parenthood.I don’t class myself as a Mummy Blogger, more as a Lifestyle Blogger who is lucky enough to be a Mummy. The UnNatural Mother covers all aspects of Family Life from How To Prove Your MIL Wrong When She Says You Can’t Make A Birthday Cake  to Why We All Need A Romantic Weekend Away  .

The aim of the blog is to show other Mum’s ( and Dad’s ) they aren’t alone. Some days being a parent is the best job in  the world and other days you wished you hadn’t got out of bed. I want us all to celebrate the highs and give each other a virtual cuddle through the lows.No two days will ever be the same and however sleep deprived  we get , we wouldn’t change a single second.

Meet The Team

The UnNatural Mother ( AKA Becci )

I’m Becci , the writer & editor behind The UnNatural Mother. I live with my 2 children and Husband in a little village just outside of Blackpool. Life before babies was spent travelling the world, partying and climbing the corporate ladder. Now in my mid 30’s I can be found at Haven, In the kid’s disco looking for a ladder to escape!

I have spent the last 15 years of my life working the in Travel Industry and most recently as a Corporate Account Manager for a Global Travel Provider. My passion in life has always been writing & photography and thanks to the success of The UnNatural Mother  I have been able to quit my day job to concentrate on making my passion my new career.

I love anything fashion related, watching YouTube tutorials and having date nights with my husband. I am happiest when I am outdoors whether that’s jumping in muddy puddles at the park or building sand castles on the beach. My guilty pleasures in life are dark chocolate, Gregg’s sausage rolls ( It has to be Gregg’s ) and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. My dream, when I was younger, was to be Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City and I still enjoy rocking a tutu skirt and glittery boots in her honour.

Lee  ( My Soul Mate )

We met when we were both 20 and working for the Civil Service. It was Instant dislike as he thought I was too posh & I thought he was a Chav. We finally bonded over our mutual love of music festivals and soon found ourselves inseparable. We were engaged at 21 and married at 25, we enjoyed our lives to the full by travelling, attending festivals and generally having fun. Lee is the free spirit of the two of us and he is always planning our next adventure. He presently works in media sales but dreams of running his own company so he can join me working from the kitchen table.

Harry ( H )

Harry burst into our lives in 2012 and since the second he took his 1st breath he hasn’t stopped making noise. He is a born entertainer with a cheeky grin and has the whole family wrapped around his little finger. Harry is a very affectionate child who loves lots of cuddles and curling up on the sofa to watch a film. He is fiercely protective of Charley and takes no prisoners if he thinks someone has upset her. Harry is a dreamer and very much a free spirit like Lee. His love for life is infectious and when on sleep deprived days I feel like crying, Harry is always the one stroking my hair and telling me it’s going to be o.k.

Charley – Rose ( Bubbs )

I should have known when Charley took 3 painful days to come out back in 2015 that this child was having it her way or no way. She is a fiery little creature who is full of personality. Whatever you are doing during the day, if she climbs up on your knee you must stop everything to sing at least 4 verses of ‘row, row,row your boat’. She would give Beyoncé a run for her money as the ‘ Independent Women’ and loves bouncing about on our trampoline. Charley is a total water baby and if she could grow a tail she would be a mermaid.
